Welcome to FoodCloud Academy’s second webinar in our series! This series is based on our four case studies that showcase the best practices of surplus food sharing projects. Each case study focuses on a specific theme and demonstrates how organisations started with a single idea and service, eventually growing to offer wide-ranging services that truly benefit their communities. Our four themes are Education, Partnerships, Empowerment, and Reducing Stigma. In this webinar, we explore how partnerships can enhance community services. Pat Kennedy from Limerick Island Community Partners will discuss how collaborating with other entities helps maintain community trust and impartiality. Joanne Butler, the Climate Action Officer at Donegal Local Development Company, will then present on the Food Response Network—a project aimed at reducing food waste and addressing food poverty and insecurity throughout County Donegal. She will also cover the Growers’ Project, which redistributes surplus vegetables to community organisations, and the creation of the Food Equality Forum, a collaborative effort to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for food equality.
