FoodCloud’s "Reducing Food Waste in the Home" MOOC
What is a MOOC?
A MOOC, or Massive Open Online Course, is a free online learning opportunity designed for flexibility. FoodCloud’s "Reducing Food Waste in the Home" MOOC, developed in partnership with Atlantic Technological University (ATU), is self-paced and offers a digital badge upon completion. The course is structured into three units, providing an engaging and interactive learning journey that helps learners expand their knowledge of food waste.
How to enrol in a FoodCloud Academy MOOC via freecourses.atu.ie
Search for "FoodCloud Academy" on your preferred search engine.
Navigate to the Learn tab from the menu at the top of the page.
Under the “Thrive Together Programme” heading, select Online Courses.
On the "Courses and Workshops" page, scroll down to the 'Reducing Food Waste in the Home' course.
At the bottom of the course description, click 'Learn More', which will redirect you to the freecourses.atu.ie website.
In the top-right corner of the page, click the 'Log In' button.
Below "Is this your first time here?" click 'Create New Account'.
On the registration page, enter your desired username, create a password, and provide your email, first name, surname, city/town, and country.
Tick the "I’m not a robot" box and click "Create My New Account".
You will receive an email titled 'ATU Free Courses: Account Confirmation'.
Open the email and click the confirmation link provided.
Once confirmed, return to the website. You will now be able to see the available courses.
In the "Environmental Courses" section, select 'Reducing Food Waste in the Home'.
Finally, click the 'Enrol Me' button, and you will be taken to the course homepage.
