Community Corner: St Clare’s Hospitality Kitchen

St Clare’s Hospitality Kitchen began in 2015 with a simple mission – to feed those who are hungry without judgement. Over the course of the last 10 years “The Kitchen” has grown significantly from 12,500 meals served in our first year to almost 30,000 in 2024.

At The Kitchen we provide a 3-course meal, completely free of charge, which consists of soup, a main course and dessert. We endeavour to provide wholesome, home-style cooking that will not only provide nutrition to our patrons, but also comfort. FoodCloud Hubs has been invaluable in this effort. Through its use we have become better equipped to provide variety in our menus as well as to add additional benefits to our meals through fresh fruit and vegetables.

We have availed of FoodCloud Hubs for most of our existence to date. The use of this surplus food has helped us to save significantly on our monthly food bills which has allowed us to channel funds into other areas of our service. It is services like FoodCloud as well as our dedicated volunteers that will allow The Kitchen to celebrate its 10th anniversary this year! The Kitchen is open Monday – Friday from 12:30 – 2:30pm. All are welcome, no questions asked.
