BWG Foods’ support of FoodCloud during Covid-19 crisis has been integral to keeping our surplus products moving around the country.
BWG Foods have been donating to FoodCloud since 2015 and in this time we have redistributed more than 190 tonnes of surplus food from their four sites: BWG Foods Cork – Value Centre, BWG Foods Galway – Value Centre, BWG Foods Dublin – Value Centre and BWG Foods National Distribution Centre, as well as from the yearly BWG Foods trade show. All of these donations have benefited more than 340 Charities and Community Groups around the country.
Since March 2020, BWG Foods have donated over 13.5 tonnes of surplus food, the equivalent of 32,211 meals, in response to Covid-19. They have taken the kindness even further going above and beyond to support FoodCloud through both additional storage support, offering 50 pallets worth of additional storage in Blarney Cork, and inter-depot transport.
The storage gives FoodCloud extra capacity to hold the additional volumes of donations we have received since the beginning of the crisis while the inter-depot transfers support us in moving food between our three Hubs, which allows us to ensure we continue getting surplus food to vulnerable people all around the country; both integral parts of keeping the show on the road!
We could not do what we do without the amazing support of BWG Foods. Their phenomenal donations and additional support ensures FoodCloud are able to continue getting good food to the 500+ Charities and Community Groups we support.
Thanks to Kindness Hero, Mark Crowe, who is helping to ensure that good food gets to people who need it all over the country.
“BWG Foods has been a strong champion of FoodCloud and we are privileged to be in a position to further strengthen our partnership by helping them support the most vulnerable in our communities at this challenging time for charities and families.”
Mark Crowe, National Transport and Distribution Manager at BWG Foods
